The Mission

Before she could react, Darwin was sent airborne by an impact and landed hardly a few meters back. She gasped and coughed as she tried to catch a breath again, and also struggled to get back on her feet at the same time.
While still trying to do so, she started calculating their odds in this fight. Her attempt at diplomacy had failed due to a massive lack of cooperation from the side of Hermes, and he was an overpowering opponent as well, so both talking and regular fighting were out. Both of which was absolutely not her fault, and by finding out about that, she had already achieved way more than her teammates! She took a quick glance at all of them, but they were all off doing different things and not helping at all.
It looked like she'd have to play the decoy and stall for time, so they had a chance to figure out some way to get rid of this guy. She absolutely loathed that thought, and her pride was protesting heavily, but she figured that this might be the only way to get out of this again.
"Nice move, big guy!" she complimented Hermes in a monotonous, cold voice, which made perfectly clear that she didn't mean it. She was still down on her knees, but glanced at her opponent with an unbroken spirit. "Wonder where you learned that kind of stuff. 'cause I'd really like to sign up for lessons if someone out there was teaching that."

Whatever Hermes did next, it didn’t cause any screams of pain and Irasem felt a little relieved. Abandoning his squad mates felt terrible, but even if he stayed there’d be nothing he could have done.
Captain Corwin was flat on the ground, Ramus next to him. Irasem could see blue sparkles dancing on the armour… whatever that meant.
“If you need a hand, just say so”, he said to the Tetra. He’d never been a medic and his knowledge of first aid was still based on Gorns, not on humans, so there wasn’t much he could do. He certainly didn’t want to accidantly kill the Captain.
Taking a careful look around, Irasem noticed what had to be some kind of control panel. There were screens, buttons, switches, small coloured lights and a joy stick, and a small sign told him he had found the controls for tractor beams. The screens showed the main room what meant he could see Cin Varencegal on her knees next to Hermes. This guy better didn’t get nasty now. Time for some distraction!
The controls appeared to be operational, so Irasem grabbed the joy stick and tried to get the beam working. He aimed at Hermes’ capsule, hoping the thing was important enough to him that he’d let Cin Varencegal and Bianco be. At least for a while.

Hermes grinned. "Sorry kitty, but divinity can't be trained" he slowly walked towards her.
As he stood right in front of her, Irasem targeted the capsule with the tractor beam.
"I would like you to leave that thing, where it is..." He said looking towards the tractor beam cannons camera "or you will regret it"
Hermes only stood there, doing nothing for the moment.

(I'll leave the Map for this round, only thing that changed, was Hermes.)

Serene found a strange looking weapon in the crate. She took her knife away and grabbed for the new weapon instead. It seemed, as if Irasem brought her some time, so she could take the weapon and head in Darwins direction to signal her with a wave of her hand, to come at her, while she aimed at Hermes, without shooting. She didn't know what this thing in her hands was, but it looked like something to shoot, and that sounded more like Darwins business, Serene thought.

"I would like you to leave that thing where it is… or you will regret it" Irasem could hear Hermes’ voice loud and clear, so apparently there was an audio link to the main room. So far, so good.
As things were developing so far, Irasem found that anything he could possibly do would piss Hermes off, what would most likely end with him regretting what he did. Though, he couldn’t just stand around and wait for this guy to finish them off, so he better did something now. He had to buy some time for his mates, maybe they’d have some ideas what to do or at least Ramus might be able to do some first aid on the captain.
“Don’t you think you might regret losing your precious capsule?” Irasem asked, sounding more confident than he actually felt. “Back off from all of us. Now!” Moving the joystick, Irasem lifted the capsule off the ground, about to let it crash down again right away.

Kitty!?! That was all Darwin heard. What an unforgivable insolence! She thought no further and didn't even see Bianco waving, all she could think about was make that sucker eat his own words and have him suffocate on them.
She reached back with her strong right leg and delivered a kick as strong and hefty as she could towards Hermes' manly weakpoint.

Hermes gave a wince of pain and teleported back to the start…but the start was now right below the floating capsule. So he crouched under a hell lot of metal.
“What a…uncommon tactic” he said, controlling his voice, but you could hear a bit of the pain he head. He stood up “This will cost you something…” he said, now starting to grin again.

Irasem couldn't quite believe what he saw. Though, there was no time for questioning cin Varencgal's methods. Without hesitating, he let Hermes' capsule crash down on him, burying him underneath a neat amount of metal - or whatever the capsule was made of.
"Time for you to stop grinning."

Serene was about to slap her palm at her forehead, when Darwin jumped towards Hermes. But she surprisingly got Hermes where it really hearts - well at least for men. Bull's Eye she thought and lifted the weapon she just found. Hermes would either be smashed down by Irasem or he had to teleport to another place, if he still could. Serene would get him there, though she still didn't know, what would happen, if she pulled the trigger.

Darwin was surprised that actually hit. The next thing Heres did was teleporting back beneath his capsule, and Irasem lost no time in having that thing drop on top of him. Darwin just stood there and waited on what would happen.

Hermes got crushed by the Capsule, which shattered in its components, leaving Hermes under a pile of metal plates.
"Asshole...the fun is now over" It wasn't really loud but you could hear it as a muffled mumbling.
One of the plates suddenly flew away, crushing one crate. You could see the armoured hand of Hermes. It would take a few punches, but he would be free soon.

Suddenly you all get a radio transmission. "What the fuck is going on down there?" It's Komarov.

Ramus:
The blue sparkles are getting more intense, almost blinding you.

Shit, this guy was tough! On the screens he saw Hermes emerging from what was left of his capsule. The asshole had to be stopped. Now!
Irasem abandoned the tractor beam control panel and spurted back into the main room while he took his MGL off his back. Cin Varencegal wouldn’t be in his direct line of fire, but it still wasn’t a good idea to stand right in front of an explosion. “Varencegal, take cover!”, he shouted and got ready to launch a grenade right into the pile of rubble Hermes sat in.
Irasem kneeled down to get a steady firing position, aimed carefully and pulled the trigger. Than he lay down to avoid being hit from splinters or debris.

Shit! Shit! SHIT! That guy was still moving after that? Darwin could hardly believe her eyes. What could actually kill this guy? Well, Irasem seamed to have an idea, since he rushed there with an reasonable argument in his hands: A heavy grenade launcher!
Darwin didn't wait to tell him again to take cover and jumped behind the crate to her left. Then, as the Gorn was doing his thing, she answered Komarovs radio call: "Captain down, damn it! Send us some back-up!" she yelled angrily. Not that Komarov had done anything to her, but that Hermes' guy was seriously pissing her off.

"Double-u te ef!" I yelled when the blue sparks started to blind me.
"HEYA Irasem, howbout finishin this guy finally, I think Corwin's badly hurt, we should better get him to the hospital station!"
I removed that helmet of Corwin, he was still breathing and I moved his head so the spit would run out, so he would not die because of suffocation.

What the... Hermes was still moving, but since he couldn't run away at the moment, this was somehow the best chance Serene would get. And you don't even need to be a Sniper to hit a target that close and big. Thus she shot her strange, recently found, new ... what ever. She was a little excited what might happen.

"Are there any Sparks?" Komarov asked through the communicator.

Biancos new found Weapon shot one hell of a blast. It was a blue energy-shockwave...thingy, but it blasted one of the Steel plates on top of Hermes away, like a sheet of paper, revealing more parts of the Enemy. "The Hell?" Hermes said surprised, when he realised the Plate Was gone. "THE HELL???" He screamed, as he saw the incoming grenade. What happened now was too fast, but it definitely ended in a big explosion and a dense Smoke cloud, blocking you from seeing, what happened to Hermes.

First Irasem heard a single shot, not from any weapon he knew. He didn’t have much time to think about this strange sound though, because the exploding grenade deafened him and as he looked up again the centre of the hanger was filled with thick smoke.
If Hermes wasn’t finished now, Irasem had no idea what else he could do to stop him. He always expected the worst – never underestimate your enemy! – so he rather took cover next to Cin Varencegal and carefully peered around the edge of the crate waiting for the smoke thin out.

"Dude, sir! There are f*cking sparks, how do u kno this shit tho? Corwin is givin'em birth like an strange aliankind of motha and ma stupid scanner doesnt work, fuck it. Can u beam me up, scotty?"

There was a bit of a pause in the Radio signal from Komarov. He was clearly a bit confused by Ramus' speaking.
"Back off from him..." He just said.

The Smoke was clearing up, so now one could see again.
The Pile of Metal was shattered in all directions, but in the middle, there was Hermes.
He held a broken piece of a Steel Plate in his right hand which he had used as a shield. "Close...too close..." He said.
Hermes looked worn out. His clothes were ripped, he had many wounds, and from his movement you could tell that he had broken his left arm.
He slowly stood up and gave a wince of pain as he touched his left arm. "You really are annoying..." Hermes grabbed his former shield and looked at all its dents and scratches. "Huh...that was a hard blow...good thing; these Gorn had access to high quality Steel..."

After what had felt like hours, the smoke finally thinned out. The pile of metal had been scattered by the explosion, but there he was – Hermes, on his knees, but still breathing. How much could his guy take?! He was in no good shape anymore, though: cloths ragged, bleeding from several wounds and left arm injured, maybe broken. However weak Hermes was by now, he got up again, muttering “You really are annoying...”
That made Irasem loose what was left of his patience. He took aim with the MGL once more… “Let’s finish this – once and for all!” He shouted the last words, putting all his anger behind them, and pulled the trigger.

"WHO is annoying?" Darwin shouted at that guy. Seriously, what the hell? It got really irritating and scary how much this guy could take! Darwin hated to admit that to herself, but she was really getting nervous and frightened by this guy. It was just unnatural, and there was no other way arounf killing him now. Just too bad killing him turned out to be kind of hard!
"Just shoot him! Kill him! Kill him with grenades! Do it!" She shouted at the Gorn next to her, who was already firing his second grenade. Not like he wasn't already doing that, but she had to overplay her fear by acting overly angry.

"Alrite, alrite, like u wish, sir!" I said, "Ah am officially retreadin frum him, duntcha hope u know watcha doin."

Serene was still amazed by her new weapon. Maybe there were similiar things in the other crates, she thougt, and glanced to the next one. She ran to the one at her left and opened it, the way she had just opened the last one. This was better than every X-Mas she ever had.

It really was a close call, but Hermes managed to teleport away, so evade the most of the blast wave. "Crap" he said, as he landed and stumbled a bit.
He was about to start an attack but he would never get his revenge on Irasem.

The Reason for this was what happened inside the Server Room.

Corwins hull of sparks got brighter and suddenly he opened his eyes, like e awoke out of a terrible nightmare.
He said nothing, jumped to his feet and looked towards Hermes.
"I told you! I killed you once; you won’t have a chance to survive this time!"
With this said, the sparks concentrated around his hands, feet and eyes and Corwin ran.
He wasn't as fast as Hermes at the start of the fight, but certainly faster, than a normal human.

"What, You again?" Hermes countered, but he clearly wasn't confident anymore. Too much of his power was gone and he was injured.
Corwin approached him with bare fists…well sparkling bare fists…but Hermes had no weapon either, so it would be quite fair.

Within a few seconds Corwin was in front of Hermes, but the so called god just teleported back, where the explosion had taken place.
Hermes was about to say something witty, but he had no time for it.
Corwin knew how Hermes would act, so he changed his path in the last second, being faster than his enemy would predict.
He threw himself against Hermes, tackling him to the ground and he held him there.
“Stay dead this time!” He shouted as the sparks now went towards his chest and brightened at an exponentially rate.
Suddenly the whole thing explode.
Corwin flew back the way he came and landed besides Darwin, his armour was ripped open at the chest and he was wounded badly.
Hermes crashed in one of the fire extinguishers, which exploded too, guiding his flight inside a crate, so now he lay motionless inside the remains of the Crate.

“That doesn’t sound good…I’m on my way to you now” Komarov said via Communicator.

Inside the crate there was another weapon, it will be revealed after the next post (and the upcoming poll)

Somehow Hermes was able to dash the second grenade. He was still standing. And he even seemed to prepare an attack! How much could he take in?!
Suddenly Irasem heard a familiar voice behind him. “I told you! I killed you once; you won’t have a chance to survive this time!” As he spun around he saw the Captain sprinting out of the server room, blue sparks surrounding him. The Gorn couldn’t help it; his jar dropped in disbelieve as he watched Corwin approach Hermes in superhuman speed. Both men didn’t hold weapons… was this battle just about to end in a goddamn brawl?! What the hell was wrong with this mission??
Irasem couldn’t exactly follow the fighters’ actions, they were moving way too fast, but he could see Corwin wrestling Hermes to the ground. Suddenly an intense flash of light blinded him and he turned back, his back to the crate he had used as cover, rubbing his eyes. Though he was blind for the time being he could still hear just fine… until an explosion deafened him.
It took some time for Irasem to get hold of his senses again and by the time his vision cleared he found Captain Corwin lying only a few meters ahead of him, his chest badly injured. Looking around Irasem couldn’t get a visual on Hermes, maybe this guy really was finished now.
Irasem just had to assume that because there was really no time to start a search for Hermes in all this rubble. “Hey guys!”, Irasem tried to raise someone from the team over his radio headset, forgetting any orders about call signs and official stuff. “I need a casevac, right now! Main storage room, near the exit to the server room. The Captain’s down!”
